“Vertebral Forest” portrays the body as the foundation of nature’s biodiversity—a geography in which the body is the terrain, the landscape, and an integral part of this system; in other words, “if nature is affected, the body is affected, and vice versa.” Here I highlight the work of thousands of rural farmers, environmentalists, and defenders of the rights of nature, who use their knowledge and their bodies to defend our vital resources.
