Lydia
Lydia DM was born in Mongolia and educated in China, receiving her master’s-level training at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing, where she studied Chinese mural painting. Her artistic research explores contemporary ink painting and the visual and spiritual traditions of Dunhuang, bringing these historical influences into dialogue with contemporary experience. Rooted in the spirit of Zen Buddhism, her work explores stillness, perception, and the inner world. Through a distinctly feminine perspective, she reflects on how spiritual awareness shapes contemporary women’s sensuality, emotional consciousness, and relationship with the self. Her practice creates a quiet dialogue between Eastern philosophy, feminine sensibility, and contemporary life.
